We have heard ms. Aggarwal on admission. The respondent/complainant had reservation in AC third in Mahakaushal Express for journey from Gwalior to Katni on 7.1.2003 and from Katni to Gwalior on 8.11.2008. It was alleged that during journey on 7.1.2008, laptop, cash of Rs.20,500/- and other important documents were stolen from the luggage of the respondent for which a report was lodged with T.T.E. Case was also registered by GRP Police, Katni of theft. Respondent thereafter filed complaint seeking certain reliefs which was contested by the petitioner/opposite party-Railways. The District Forum allowed the complaint with direction to the Railways to pay Rs.10,000/- in respect of loss of laptop with interest @ 8% p.a. and cost of Rs.1200/-. Dissatisfied with Forum’s order, both the parties filed appeals. Appeal of the petitioner-Railways was dismissed. However, the appeal filed by the respondent for enhancement of compensation was allowed enhancing the amount of compensation from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.20,000/-. Having perused both the orders passed by fora below and the reasoning for enhancement of compensation given by the State Commission, we do not find any illegality or jurisdictional error in the two orders calling for interference in revisional jurisdiction under Section 21(b) of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986. Revision petition is, therefore, dismissed.
