Final Order / Judgement
In this case the main grievance of the complainant is that he had sent a parcel on 6.2.2019 to his son Harmolak Singh at Japan from Post Office, Bhikhi. It is alleged that the parcel has not been delivered to his son at address mentioned on the parcel. The complainant alleged that due to lack of service of OPs the complainant has suffered a lot of mental and practical harassment.
The version of OP is that the parcel was sent to Japan on the given address. But the postal authorities of Japan returned the parcel to India as the address was incorrect. The parcel was returned by the concerned authority for the reason of “Unknown addressee.” It clearly indicates that address given by the complainant was incorrect, so the parcel could not be delivered. The postal authorities Japan returned the same to the post office Bhikhi. Thereafter it was given to Post Man for delivery. The complainant has refused to take the parcel back.  The complainant alongwith his counsel appeared and requested that he is ready to receive the parcel in the Commission.
On 29.11.2021 Sh. S. K. Chhabra, Advocate counsel for opposite parties had suffered a statement that in view of the oral request made by complainant the department is ready to deliver the parcel in question to the complainant today itself.
Sh. S. K. Chhabra, Advocate counsel for opposite has appeared today and suffered a statement that on the request of the complainant and his counsel on 14.12.2021 the parcel was brought before this Commission on 16.12.2021. He has brought the parcel today form the Department ( Post Office ). He has also brought the parcel before this

Commission on 20.12.2021 but neither the complainant nor his counsel has appeared before this Commission to collect the same on both the occasions. The department is ready to give the parcel to the complainant as and when he will come to the Post Office Bhikhi. Complaint be disposed of accordingly.
Today also neither complainant nor his counsel has appeared to receive the parcel in question.
In view of the statement suffered by counsel for the opposite parties, the complainant is directed to receive the parcel in question from the Postal Authorities, Bhikhi under receipt on any working day. File be indexed and consigned to record.
