The complaint is allowed. Complainant is awarded the sum of Rs.2,33,371/- being the repair bill and thereby the Insurance claim of the suit vehicle together with simple interest at 12% p.a. thereon from 01/06/2008 (being the date on which Opposite Party’s rejection letter of 24/05/2008 can be reasonably assumed to have been received by Complainant) till date of actual payment. Complainant is further awarded a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- towards compensation for additional expense of parking charges imposed by the Service Centre, harassment due to failure in timely settlement of claim, and loss of reputation due to recovery notices from HDFC Bank.

In the facts of the matter opposite Party shall pay costs of Rs. 10,000/-

Opposite Party shall comply with above directions within 60 days of date of this order.
