BEFORE THE LOK ADALAT HELD IN DISTRICT CONSUMER DISPUTES REDRESSAL FORUM–II, U.T. CHANDIGARH Consumer Complaint No.580 of 2012 Kaka Singh Vs. HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company Ltd. & anr. PRESENT: Sh.Balwinder Singh, Counsel for Complainant. Sh.Nitin Thatai, Counsel for OPs. Dated the 7th day of June, 2013 ORDER A compromise has been arrived at between the parties with the efforts of Lok Adalat. Sh.Nitin Thatai, Counsel for OPs, has made the following statement, recorded separately;- “The Opposite Parties (OPs) offers to refund the premium amount of Rs.1,00,000/- to the complainant after deduction of applicable statutory charges, if the complainant returns the original policy documents. This amount will be paid within 30 days from the date of receipt of original policy documents. I have received the original policy documents today from counsel for complainant.” Sh.Balwinder Singh, Counsel for Complainant, has accepted the offer and has made the following statement, recorded separately;- “I accept the offer and have handed over the original policy documents to counsel for OPs in the Forum. The complaint be disposed of accordingly as fully satisfied.” In view of the above statements made by the parties, it is ordered that the Opposite Parties (OPs) shall refund the premium amount of Rs.1,00,000/- to the complainant, after deduction of applicably statutory charges, within 45 days from today i.e. 07.06.2013, failing which the Opposite Parties (OPs) shall pay the agreed amount along with interest @18% p.a. from the date of this order till the payment is made. Hence, the complaint is disposed of accordingly. Certified copy of this order be communicated to the parties free of cost. After compliance file be consigned.
