ORDER

Heard Counsel for the petitioner. There is delay of 287 days in filing this revision petition. This delay is sought to be explained by the petitioner in the following words:- hat delay of about eight months has occurred in filing the present revision. Delay has occurred as the petitioner misplaced her case file and as such could not file the case in time. That the delay has occurred for the reasons beyond the control of the petitioner. Suffice it to observe that this statement on the part of the petitioner is not at all an explanation of this inordinate delay, leave alone a sufficient and satisfactory explanation. It is settled position of law that for condonation of delay, particularly in a revision petition, it needs to be justified by showing sufficient cause, supported by appropriate documents. The position has been re-affirmed by the Apex Court in its judgements in the cases State Bank of India v. B.S. Agricultural Industries II (2009) CPJ 29 (SC) and Mahant Bikram Das Chela v. Financial Commissioner (Revenue), Punjab, Chandigarh & Others [1977 AIR 2221] Needless to add that the tests laid down by the Apex Court for condoning the delay are not even attempted to be met in this case. The application for condonation of delay is, therefore, disallowed and, consequently, the revision petition fails and is dismissed.
