For the Respondent :

Dated : 27 April 2023
ORDER

Mrs. Radha Thakur has approached this Commission by filing the Revision Petition under Section 58(1)(b) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 against the Order dated 24.02.2023 passed by the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Haryana Panchkula (hereinafter referred to as “the State Commission”) in First Appeal No.42/2022, whereby the First Appeal preferred by the Petitioner herein has been dismissed and affirmed the Order passed by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Gurgaon (hereinafter referred to as “the District Commission”).

The District Commission had awarded interest as per the rates of HUDA policy on each deposit till offer of alternate plot which is @ 9 per cent per annum. The Petitioner is limiting only on the question of awarding interest. According to the Petitioner, the interest should be 24 per cent per annum. It may be mentioned here that presently the Hon’ble Supreme Court has been awarding maximum rate of interest of @ 9 per cent per annum on the amount deposited. Thus, the Order passed by the State Commission is inconformity with the law laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court. I find no ground to interfere in the Impugned Order passed by the State Commission.

Accordingly, the Revision Petition is dismissed.
