ORDER BY HON’BLE PRESIDENT- MR. P.K. PADHI:

                                                                                                         JUDGMENT

            Complainant has filed the consumer complaint U/s.35 of Consumer Protection Act, 2019 seeking for a new electric connection.

            Notice to opposite parties was issued on 31.7.2023 as per order dtd.27.7.2023 fixing 04.8.2023 opposite parties have filed their objection stating therein that there is outstanding of Rs.1,15,562.53 paisa for which no connection can be supplied unless the entire outstanding dues is not cleared.

            Complainant stated that he was not residing in that plot and prayed for disconnection but there is no proof regarding disconnection fees to have been deposited for which without entering into the disputed fact electricity being an essential service, we direct the complainant to pay 20% of pending dues and opposite parties on receipt of the aforesaid amount shall provide new electric connection to the premises of complainant within 03 days, failing which the concerned official of opposite parties shall pay Rs.100/- per day to complainant. The complainant shall pay the regular bill and rest 80% of pending bill shall be paid in 12 installments along with monthly regular bill. With the aforesaid observation and direction consumer complaint is disposed of. No cost.
