Counsel for the petitioner present.  Arguments heard.  He wants to deposit the punitive costs of Rs. 25,000/- but  prays that the interest should be exempted.

In the interest of justice, he is allowed to deposit the demand draft in the sum of Rs. 25,000/- in favour of “Pay & Accounts Officer-Ministry of Consumer Affairs”, within a period of two weeks.  To make the thing easy, the demand draft be deposited with the Registry of this Commission, who will transmit the same to the concerned department.  It the said amount is not deposited within two weeks, then the previous order will prevail.
