ORDER

                                                                                               JUDGMENT

            Complainant has filed this consumer complaint U/s.12 of C.P. Act, 1986 seeking following reliefs;

            “Direct the opposite parties to waive out the arrears Rs.1,55,087/- and pay Rs.57,000/- towards mental agony, litigation fees and compensation”.

            The brief fact of the case is that the mother of the complainant namely Sanjukta Barik is the consumer of Electric bearing consumer No.03612247 who became a consumer of 2003 and consuming current 1 KW and accordingly average bill was paid. In the year 2005 the opposite parties gave bill for a load of 2.5 KW without installing meter. The opposite parties installed a meter in the year 2017 in the month of January and also taking reading of the meter in which consumption of electric current is below 1 KW and the complainant is paying current bill regularly but the opposite parties without revising the bill supplying electric bill demanding arrears. The complainant being harassed by these opposite parties filed C.C. Case No.GRF/JED/138/2009 before the Grievance Redressal Forum, CESU, Paradeep in which the learned Forum passed order directing the opposite parties to install meter in the premises of the complainant and revise the bill according to the meter reading, but till today the opposite parties did not take any steps to revise the bill and demanding arrears in the bill.

            Notice was issued to opposite parties on 04.01.2020, but none of opposite parties appeared and filed any objection. We have gone through the records and find that the Grievance Redressal Forum in C.C. Case No.GRF/JED/138/2009 directed to install a meter but so far it has not been done.

            We therefore direct the opposite parties to install a new meter and on the basis of meter reading of 06 months the pending dues of the complainant shall be calculated and the complainant shall pay the bills within six months after calculation on the basis of six months average basis.

            Accordingly the consumer complaint is disposed of. No cost.

            Pronounced in the open Commission on this 1st August, 2022.
