No.479 of 2011 \\2// Officer, Complainant approached the opposite party and requested to charge the complainant as per the actual price of the vehicle, but the opposite party refused to do so. Ultimately the complainant has to per force deposit the registration fee as per demand of the opposite party. The complainant has claimed that the excess amount got deposited from the complainant be refunded to the complainant. Further a sum of Rs.50 C.C. No.479 of 2011 \\3/ 2. Notice of the complaint was issued to the opposite party, but the opposite party failed to appear before this Forum despite service of notice. Hence was proceeded against ex-parte. 3. Complainant led evidence. 4. We have heard the complainant in person and have also gone through the file. 5. The complainant has placed on the file copy of the invoice as Ex.C-3. A perusal of invoice Ex.C-3 shows that the price of the car purchased by the complainant was Rs.6Punjab has prescribed the fee payable for the registration of the vehicles. The registration fee in case of four wheeled vehicle is as - . Four Wheeled 2% of the priceo:p> We have been told that the rate of tax has been increased from 2% to 4% by the State Government. Even if it is so, still the tax is to be calculated on the actual price of the vehicle. Complainant is not supposed to pay the tax on the tax. The different taxes payable by the consumer are to be calculated C.C. No.479 of 2011 \\4/ on the actual price exclusive of other taxes. One is not supposed to pay tax doubly.
