          Petitioner was opposite party before the District Forum.

          Respondent/complainant, who was an ex-employee of the petitioner, retired from services on 30.11.1983.  He suffered a heart

attack on 0.5.5.2001 and was treated in Metro Hospital & Health Institute, Delhi where he was admitted in ICCU Ward and was operated immediately as he had 95% blockade in heart valve for which complainant had incurred medical expenses to the tune of Rs.1,22,000/-.  He made a claim with the petitioner for reimbursement which was not settled.  Complaint was filed by the complainant before the District Forum.

          District Forum allowed the complaint and directed the petitioner to pay sum of Rs.30,000/- to the respondent with interest @ 18% p.a. from the date of submission of the claim till realization; Rs.10,000/- were awarded as compensation for mental harassment and Rs.5,000/- as litigation expenses.

          Being aggrieved by the order passed by the District Forum, petitioner filed an appeal before the State Commission which has been dismissed by the impugned order.  Thereafter, present revision petition has been filed.

          A limited notice was issued to the respondent regarding award of interest @ 18% p.a.  Notice was issued subject to the petitioner

paying the sum of Rs.30,000/-with interest @ 9% p.a. and the sum of Rs.10,000/- awarded by of compensation along with costs of Rs.5,000/- to the respondent within four weeks.

          Counsel for the respondent states that the amount has not been paid to the respondent.  Limited notice issued to the respondent is made absolute.  The rate of interest is reduced from 18% to               9% p.a.  Petitioner is directed to pay sum of Rs.30,000/- with interest @ 9% p.a. from the date when the respondent submitted his bills for Rs.1,22,000/- within four weeks along with sum of Rs.10,000/- and Rs.5,000/-, failing which the petitioner would be liable to pay interest @ 12% p.a. if not already paid.             

            Revision petition stands disposed of in above terms.
