1. Pleadings of the complainant in brief
The Complainant sent a parcel of 11 kg of good quality mangoes to her daughter in her Banglore address on 8/5/2023 through the opposite party’s Edathara Branch. While sending the parcel, the OP assured that it will be delivered in 2 – 3 days; but they did not deliver it till the filing of this complaint. The opposite parties did not respond to the complainant’s call after wards. Her daughter send e-mail for which they answered that they will revert back, but it did not happen.
So she approached the Commission for directing the OPs to pay Rs.1000/- as the cost of mangoes, Rs.880/- as parcel charges and the compensation for the mental stress with cost.
2. After admitting complaint, notices were issued to both OPs. Notices were served on opposite parties, but they did not appear before the Commission. So their name was called in open court and sent ex-parte.
3. Complainant filed proof affidavit and Ext.A1 & A2 marked. Ext.A1 is the receipt dated 8/5/2023 issued by the opposite party.
Pronounced in the open court on this the 4th day August, 2023.
