The review petitioners before us are the appellants in Appeal No. 854/2016. The appeal was dismissed as per judgment dated 30.11.2022. The appeal had been adjourned on a number of occasions since there was no representation for the appellants. Therefore, the appeal was posted finally for hearing to 30.11.2022. On the said date also there was no representation for the appellants. Therefore, the appeal was dismissed. The said order is sought to be reviewed in this petition.
2. According to the counsel for the appellants, there was no wilful negligence or omission on the part of the review petitioners in following up the progress of the case. Since the review petitioners have a strong case on the merits, a review of the order is sought.
3. Heard the counsel for the review petitioners. As per Sec. 50 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the power of review available to this Commission is confined to orders in which there is an error apparent on the face of the record. In the present case, no error apparent on the face of the record exists, nor has any such error been pointed out by the review petitioner.
In view of the above, this review petition is dismissed.
