Date of Order: 28.10.2015

Present

                                            1. Shri S.L.Behera, President.

                                            2. Smt. A. Nanda, Member.

Smt. A. Nanda, Sr. Member:-   The brief facts of the complaint case is that, the amount of STDR bearing NO. 916659 and 916660 both of dated 04.03.1998 of Rs.50,000/- each in the name of complainant were transferred from Branch Manager State Bank of India Champa Branch to the B.M S.B.I, Brajrajnagar Branch.  When those STDR were renewed on dtd. 04.03.2008 as per the letter dtd. 03.07.2015 of the S.B.I, Champa Branch the amount of Rs.1,13,529/- of each STDR ( principal amount of Rs. 50,000/- plus interest Rs.63,529/-) transferred to S.B.I, Brajrajnagar Branch on dtd. 08.04.2008 renewed on 04.03.2008 with amount of Rs.1,19,500/- instead of Rs.1,63,102/-. As the old record voucher etc in the  year-2005 pertaining to the said transaction were not found at Champa Branch the figure shown as Rs. 1,19,500/- could not be corrected to Rs.1,63,102/- .

The complainant’s claim is that S.B.I Brajrajnagar should have issued both the STDR and accepted amount of Rs.1,63,102/- since the date of renewed, copy of the said STDR for Rs.50,000/- vide Receipt No.-916659 and 916660  where the maturity amount has been shown as Rs.163,102/- so the said two STDR receipt from Champa Branch of the complainant should have been renewed on dtd. 04.03.2008 with an amount of Rs.1,63,102/- and not with an amount of Rs.1,19,500/- by the O.P.No.1 S.B.I. Brajrajnagar branch.  So when the documentary evidence is very clear from its face , we do not have any doubt with the grievance made by the complainant in her complaint and the same is found to be genuine.

So far as the O.P.No.3 is concerned who has appeared before this Forum through his representative and filed written version and denying all the allegations made by the complainant with praying for dismissal of this case. We do not found any deficient in service on his behalf, hence O.P.No.3 is dispense with from this proceeding.

Accordingly the complainant is allowed the O.P.No.1 B.M SBI,Brajrajnagar Branch shall rectify the wrong amount shown in the STDR from Rs.1,19,500/- to Rs.1,63,102/- within one month from the date of receipt of this order and to pay  sum of Rs.2,000/- ( Rupees two thousand) only towards compensation to the complainant within above stated stipulated period.

Accordingly the case is disposed of.

Order pronounced in the open court today the 28th day of October’ 2015 and copy of this order shall be supplied to the parties as per rule.

          I Agree.
