    Complainant avers that he purchased electric cable wires on 2008 July 15 and the copper filament inside the cable turned black.  Though he informed the said matter to opposite parties they did not take  any action.  He had completed   the house construction work.  Therefore, the complaint claiming compensation of  ` 65000/-.

 

  2.  According to opposite parties the colour of the copper wire may become brown due to oxidation but that would not affect the functional capability of the wire.  The wires manufactured comply the resistance of the cable as insisted by ISI.  The wires are free from any manufacturing defects and it can be used without any problem for decades.

 

3.   In order to  prove the quality of the wire complainant though take steps to sent the  same to appropriate  laboratory.  Considering the comparatively higher fee for testing as claimed by the Central Electrical Testing Laboratory, Kakkalur, Thiruvallur Dt.Tamil Nadu 602003 complainant dropped the said proceedings.

 

4.  Complainant examined as PW1 and the  purchase bill of the  wiring cable is marked as Ext.A1.  Opposite party produced Ext.B1 the application for wiring submitted by the complainant before the Electrical Section  Nallompuzha.  Both sides heard.  Documents perused.

 

5.   According to the complainant he purchased the cable wires as per Ext.A1 bill  for `13788.90.  and the copper wires turned dark due to the  defects.  But opposite parties in their version stated that the wires are free from any manufacturing  defects and it can be used for decades.

          Considering this statement we dismiss the complaint reserving the right of the complainant to claim compensation from the opposite parties if any  calamity occur in future due to the defects of the electric cables. However in the circumstances 2nd opposite party is directed to pay  ` 2000/- as cost to the complainant.
