By Smt. Padmini Sudheesh, President: Petitioner’s case is as follows: Petitioner has entrusted the respondent for the truss work of his roof. The house of the petitioner is a terrace building and the petitioner wanted to cover it with G.I. sheet. So he approached an Engineer named Balakrishnan and upon his direction the first respondent met the petitioner. Subsequently on 13.3.03 the first respondent executed a letter stating the conditions of work and the money received by him. He has received Rs.25,000/- as advance and on another two occasions he has also received a total sum of Rs.700/-. But the first respondent did not complete the work within the time. Several times contacted for completing the work. But was futile. Later notice sent on 26.7.03. But no remedy. Hence this complaint. 2. Complaint has amended as per order in I.A.333/05. 3. Respondents have filed version. But on 4.7.08 the respondents are called absent and set exparte. 4. Exts. P1 to P6 marked and the Commission Report is marked as Ext. C1. Ext. R1 is also marked. 5. There is no evidence to the contrary. 6. In the result, the petition is allowed and the first respondent is directed to complete the work within one month from today and also directed to provide Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) as compensation and Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) towards costs. Comply within one month. Dictated to the Confidential Assistant, transcribed by her, corrected by me and pronounced in the open Forum, this the 14th day of July 2008.
