The instant case the consumer complaint has been filed for non-payment of maturity amount of fixed deposits worth Rs-1,62,265/=( One lac sixty two thousand five hundred and seventy two) by the O.P. It has also claimed compensation and interest.
During course of proceeding a joint compromise petition dated-22.09.2019 was filed and O.P no-1 filed a petition along with a cheque in the name of complainant/Sukhamoy Mitra of Rs-1,62,572/=.
The ld. Counsel for the complainant also filed a petition to disburse the cheque. It also appears that the O.P no-1 filed a petition on 30.09.2019 stating therein that they are depositing cheque towards maturity amount only as the case has been amicably settled between the parties, beside agreed to pay the interest against the maturity amount as per terms & condition within 90 days.

As the parties have amicably settled their disputes outside of the court and have filed cheque against the maturity amount of fixed deposit and the complainant is ready to accept the same. Hence, the cheque filed as mention above is delivered to complainant Sukhamoy Mitra.
Ld. Counsel for the complainant acknowledges receipt of the cheque by the complainant and identifies him. However the O.P no-1 is directed to pay the interest on the maturity amount to the complainant as per his promise within 90 days..
However, as the matter been compromised between the parties, hence the case is disposed off.
