Both parties are present. Complainant is also present himself.
The petition dated 19/12/2023 filed by the complainant for pass an order directing the OP to install challenge or check meter to verify old meter and also pass an order directing the OP sent electric bill for the current consumption without clubbing the disputed electric bill.
The petition is taken up for hearing treating the same as M.A. Case No. 62/2023.
The OP/WBSEDCL has contested the application without filing any written objection.
Heard both sides. Objection raised by the OP side.
We find that an interim order was passed on 07/08/2023 and the OP was directed not to disconnect the electricity service connection being Consumer ID No. 522050428 of the complainant. The OP was also directed to issue bill month by month/quarterly as per proper meter reading without generating the challenged bill or outstanding bill.
The complainant stated in his application that the meter is defective and as such consumption of unit as wrongly been taken. That in such situation it is necessary to replace the defective meter or install a check meter to verify the meter is defective or not. The complainant also stated that OP is sending the electric bill month by month with clubbing the disputed bill.

Thus the OP violating the ad-interim order dated 07/08/2023 passed by this District Commission.
Perused the petition. Considered. Objection raised by the OP side.
We think ends of justice would be met up if the OP install a check meter to verify the meter is defective or not.
In this juncture without going into the merit of the case we think Electricity is most essential part of the human life in present day situation. Moreover, the complainant is depending upon the present electricity connection to run submersible pump situated at his agricultural land i.e. for his livelihood
Hence, we think prayer is to be allowed.
Hence, it is,

the petition dated 19/12/2023 filed by the complainant for restoration of his line i.e. M.A. Case No. 62/2023 is allowed on contest. No cost.
The OP/WBSEDCL is directed to install a check meter to verify the meter is defective or not for electricity connection being Consumer ID No. 522050428 of the complainant within 15 days from this date of order. OP is also directed to issue bill month by month/quarterly without clubbing the challenged bill or outstanding bill.
The complainant is also directed to pay the current bill month by month/quarterly in respect of this service connection.
Thus the M.A. is disposed of.
Fix. 16/02/2024 for filing questionnaires by the OP side. Interim order will be effected till the date.
Copy of this order be supplied to the parties each at free of cost.
