Order No.   14    Dated  22-05-2015.

            The case of the complainant in short is that complainant is a customer / consumer of Calcutta Telephones and using a telephone (land line) no.2441-1850 for the last 20 years. All dues are cleared and up to date. The advance payment of Rs.1200/- for yearly subscriptions for the receiver has also been made in April, 2013 though set defective since Dec 2012.

                Since there is no computer or internet connection at complainant’s house and also for the defect in eye sight, telephone trading is prime important for complainant’s father. Of late the telephone is not given proper service and many a times disconnection, sound and wrong number taken place due to defects in the telephone set which has been installed long back and no periodical check up / repairing or replacement done by the Calcutta Telephones. This has been experienced for he last six months and for the last 13 months “0” has totally defunct so the set has become useless specially for Bombay where 022 has to prefixed i.e. “0” is a must.

Decision with reasons:

                Sole o.p. did not contest the case by filing w/v and as such, matter was heard ex parte against the o.p.

                We have gone through the evidence of the complainant and documents in particular and we find no deficiency on the part of o.p. and complainant has miserably failed to substantiate the prove his case and is not entitled to relief.

                Hence, ordered,

                That the case is dismissed ex parte without cost against the o.p.

                Supply certified copy of this order to the parties free of cost.
