Costs deposited vide Receipt No.2563.

        Respondent/complainant purchased 2 kg of sesanum seeds from the petitioner/OP-1 for a sum of Rs.116/-.  Seeds did not yield adequate crop.  Respondent informed the Department of Agriculture.  On inspection, the Agriculture officer noted that the growth was negligible.  Deputy Director, Agriculture at the instance of Director, Agriculture conducted an enquiry and submitted the report.

District Forum allowed the complaint and directed to pay a sum of Rs.30,400/- by way of compensation along with Rs.1,000/- as costs.     

Petitioner, being aggrieved, filed the appeal before the State Commission, which has been dismissed.

Petitioner did not produce any evidence to disprove the report submitted by the Dy.Director Agriculture dated 8.11.2006.  Otherwise also, amount involved is negligible and the cost of litigation would be much more than the amount involved.  Dismissed.
