By Smt. Padmini Sudheesh, President The complainant is a consumer of respondents vide consumer No.11232. He is running the business for the purpose of earning his livelihood by means of self employment. The respondents issued Exhibit P1 notice demanding to pay Rs.4,460/- as additional security deposit. The notice is illegal. It is stated that if the amount is not paid they will disconnect the electricity. There is no details of accounts. The act of the respondents in issuing Exhibit P1 notice is deficiency in service on the part of them. Hence the complaint. 2. The respondents are called absent and set exparte. 3. The complainant filed affidavit and Exhibit P1 notice to substantiate his case. According to him he is not liable to remit the amount because it does not contain detailed accounts. 4. We have perused Exhibit P1 notice and it is issued to pay additional security deposit. It is issued as per the Supply Code and Indian Electricity Act. As per the Code the consumer is liable to pay such an amount as additional security deposit. The statutory period is also there as per Exhibit P1. So the complainant is liable to pay the amount. 5. In the result the complaint is dismissed with direction to remit the amount by 2 equal monthly instalments consecutively. The first instalment shall pay within one month from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Dictated to the Confdl.
