By G. Yadunadhan, President: The case of the complainant is that he purchased a computer from the opposite party for Rs.30420/-. Within 6 months of purchase it was defective. The purpose of the computer could not serve. After repeated complaints, opposite party has not turned up. Hence complainant is seeking relief against opposite party to return an amount of Rs.20,000/- and also a compensation. After serving notice, opposite party called absent and set exparte. Complainant filed affidavit and Exts. A1 to A4 were marked. On a perusal of the documents and affidavit of the complainant, complainant’s case is proved. Therefore petition is allowed and the opposite party is directed to return an amount of Rs.20,000/- and to pay a compensation of Rs.2000/- with a cost of Rs.250/- to the complainant.
