ORDER
K.C.RATH, PRESIDENT
1. This is an application U/s 12 of the C.P.Act, 1986.
2. The complainant’s case in brief is that, he is a consumer of electricity under the OPs bearing consumer number 03273198. It is contended by him that since the date of electricity connection to his house, he had been regularly paying the energy charges. It is further contended by the complainant that on 14/01/2015, the OPs issued electricity bill, the amount of which is Rs.31,090. In that bill, the OPs charged Rs.28,829/- towards sundry adjustment. As there is no reason to make such huge charges against the complainant, the complainant has filed this complaint for waiver of the said amount by the OPs.
3. On the other hand, the OPs did not appear in the case and they have been set exparte.
4 On perusal of materials on record and keeping in view of the submissions made by the complainant, I do not find any reason as to why the OPs would charge Rs.28,829/- towards sundry charges. Therefore, the claim of the complainant appears to be reasonable. Hence it is ordered.
ORDER
The complaint is allowed exparte against the OPs. The OPs are hereby directed to waive the charge amounting to Rs.28,829/- made against the complaint as sundry adjustment. No order as to cost & compensation. The order be complied with by the OPs within thirty days from the date of communication of this order, failing which the complainant will be at liberty to execute the order against the OPs in accordance with law.
The order is pronounced on this day the 5th July, 2022 under the seal & signature of the President and Members of the Commission.
