Tikona - Now threatening with Legal action on phone

I am here to seek the advise of the experts on how to proceed.
My user id with tikona was 1107560137.

I want to take this matter to the consumer court and seek your valuable advise in this matter.
I am sorry for this long write-up but want to present the full story.



In Dec of 2012, I agreed to take Tikona Broadband services. They charged me 2000 Rs and 200 Rs for the installation. They were prompt in installing the instrument and the internet started working within two days (I think on 11th Dec 2012). But the good part ends here.

I noticed that the connection would terminate itself within less than 2 minutes and would force me to login again. I called the customer care and they told there was some problem and this issue would not happen again. I needed the connection for my work and really could not afford the frequent disconnection.
However, the problem did not resolve the next day. In fact, for the next 10 days I would call them every day and spend my time arguing/ begging with these guys explaining my need and requesting there prompt action. Many times I was promised that some one will come to inspect the service and fix the problem. No one ever came.

On 22nd Dec 2012 I called their helpdesk and asked them to terminate the connection (complaint reference number 1-2532558781). They suggested that I send them an email too requesting the same. Since I could not use the internet properly for even a day or so, I told them that I wanted a full refund.

Reason for disconnection : Very poor service. Frequent disconnections. Customer care representatives making false promises.
Please note: I had called every day (FOR 10 DAYS) to report of the frequent disconnections which was responded by false promises.

I request for a full refund of my money in the amount of Rs 2000.
Kindly acknowledge the receipt of the email and confirm that the service has been disconnected.

PS. Do not contact me for any other offer you have except to tell me that the service has been discontinued/ refunding my money.

They did reply telling me that my email was not registered (they had it spelled wrong in their system) and asked to correct the email address by sending some SMS to a number. I even did that. Their response is pasted below. At this point I assumed that we have a settlement. However, I got a bill the next month. I called their helpdesk and was told to ignore the bill.

Today, I got a call from some one representing them(phone number (+911148121350 which was an invalid number when I called back) and calling himself a lawyer. He offered me an out of court settlement for Rs 48000 (something) or else a jail of 6 months. He told that he is registering the case in Delhi court and that would later be shifted to Pune.


I have already sent an email to tikona customer requesting a clarification.

I think this is just too much. I want to take this matter to court now and seek a proper guidance in this matter.

Your account shall remain under our retention effort for next 10 days to allow us a fair chance to satisfy your concerns and make sure you continue using Tikona services. It will delight us to re-instate your confidence in us. Within these 10 days we shall seek your cooperation to facilitate a prompt resolution with help of Technical Help desk as well our field care executives (Tikona SevaMitra).

Please be inform that, for proceed with the disconnection request you need to email us from your register email id.

We would request you to follow the below mentioned procedures for making correction email id from your end.

· RSTEMAIL<space><Username><space><Mail id> send to 5676708 (Tikona’s short code) from registered mobile number.

In order to safeguard against any unauthorized request for disconnection of service we would also request you please write an email to
customercare@tikona.in from your registered email id or call 1-800-20-94276 from your registered mobile number if the above retention effort is not successful. Please note that communication received from email or mobile not registered as part of Personal Information of your Tikona account is liable to be considered as ‘not valid’ and thus request may not be processed.

We would also like to assure that in case our efforts to resolve valid issues to your satisfaction are not successful, the monthly bill charges shall be applicable only till the next bill cycle date based on your last usage date or disconnection request date whichever is later. On processing of request for disconnection you will be required to return all Tikona installed equipment and material including indoor & outdoor CPE, POE adopter, cabling etc. In case CPE is not recovered charges of Rs 1500 shall be added towards the outstanding amount. Entire outstanding amount shall be required to be paid to create full & final settlement of account.

    There is an update to my case. The Tikona guys are still sending bills and called again today with some talk about a summon in Delhi High Court.
    I am ready to go to the court. I feel, my case is just. I had paid them 2200 Rs for their pathetic service. After the connection, I was continuously on phone for 11 days to resolve their "technical glitch" and then only asked the service to be disconnected, requesting them to refund my money. In turn, they bill me the next month too.
    Finally they have collected their equipment from my house. At the time of collecting the equipment, the guy already knew that their AP was missing. I asked him , how he knew it and he tells me that he went upstairs to check it. I insisted that I would like to see it for myself and we went upstairs to find the door locked. How did the guy checked the equipment when the door was locked??? Makes me wonder. Anyways, I got the key from the watchman, and when we opened the door to terrace, I was not surprised to see that the guy's claims were right. Crooks. Thieves.

    Anyways, I am putting this update to warn people about this company. Please be very very careful while dealing with Tikona. Even if Tikona is the only option you have, trust me, you will be better off without an internet connection than to go with Tikona.

    And to Tikona, I have already told the guy who was talking about the summon in Delhi court, and I am saying it again.."yeah!!! lets go to court. See you there."

    Hi Team,

    I have also taken the Tikona internet and were the worth customer of them for an year. 5 months before I changed my local address and therefore asked the tikona to stop their services. Later I received the full and final settlement mail also from the tikona saying 40 Rs pending on me which i have submitted later.
    I received a call today from unknown number today where person claiming to be the advocate of tikona services threatening for the going to delhi court and asking address for sending summon.He told that amount of Rs 1675 pending on me which is totally wrong.Please help me on this regard.My Tikona ID is 1106685448.

    Hello,

    I had faced issues with Tikona service in past but still opted for it again as they were the only option in my locality.

    My tikona id is 1109209753

    My internet was in disconnection for more than 25 days and even after repeated call to customer care I had no luck. I have called the customer care multiple times(more than 10 times) with complaint numbers:
    1-3173859692
    1-3158334941
    On top of this I received a bill of INR 800 for the service. After getting frustrated I have requested the staff of Tikona to disconnect my account and I have clearly told them that I'll not be paying any bill for this month's usage and they have agreed to it and also promised me to give a discount of 50% in my next 3 months bill if I continue to use their service. Since, I'm not interested in using your services I've clearly mentioned to send the official person to collect the device and nobody came. I have even called their regional device collector Mr. Ranjan and he taold he'll send his person but nobody came.

    I've been getting daily calls regarding bill payment and I've been threaten if I don't then a legal action will be taken. Today I have received a call from civil department to either pay the amount (885 for bill + 1500 for devices) or face legal case.

    In spite of this I request you to kindly address this issue ASAP as I have faced too much of suffering and humiliation.

    Please advice.
